1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Tartan Talks Ltd (registered in Scotland, company number SC826909). They cover your use of tartantalks.co.uk, the tickets you buy, and your attendance at our events.
By buying a ticket or signing up for membership you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't book.
2. Who we are
Tartan Talks Ltd organises Tartan Talks, a monthly business networking event in Edinburgh and Glasgow. You can reach us at [email protected].
3. Buying tickets
Tickets are sold per event, in pounds sterling, at the price shown on the event page. Your booking is confirmed once payment is taken and you receive a confirmation email with your ticket number and QR code.
- Tickets are personal to the named ticket holder.
- Tickets are subject to availability.
- You must be 18 or over to attend.
- The QR code on your ticket is unique — please don't share it.
4. Memberships
Tartan Talks members pay an annual subscription that grants entry to events without buying separate tickets, subject to capacity. Membership is non-transferable. Membership terms are agreed at the point of sign-up; this section is an overview only.
5. Code of conduct at events
Our events run because everyone in the room respects everyone else. By attending, you agree to:
- Be courteous and considerate to other attendees, speakers, and venue staff.
- Not use the event to aggressively pitch, harass, or hard-sell to other attendees.
- Not record audio, video, or photograph other attendees without their consent.
- Follow venue rules, including any health and safety guidance.
- Drink responsibly. We may refuse entry or remove anyone behaving inappropriately, with no refund.
6. Cancellations and changes by us
If we have to cancel an event, you'll get a full refund or the option to transfer your ticket to a future event. If we move the date, time, or venue, we'll let you know as soon as we can. If the change doesn't suit you, you can ask for a refund.
We won't be liable for travel, accommodation, or other costs you incurred for the original date.
7. Cancellations by you
If you can't make an event, see our Refund Policy for the rules around refunds and ticket transfers.
8. Photography and recording
We may photograph or film at events for marketing purposes. Where this happens it will be made clear at the door and you can let staff know if you'd rather not be in shot. If you spot yourself in a photo and would like it removed, just email us.
9. Our liability
We provide our events with reasonable care and skill. To the extent permitted by law, we limit our liability to the amount you paid for the relevant ticket or membership. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.
You attend events at your own risk in respect of personal property — we recommend you keep belongings with you.
10. Intellectual property
The Tartan Talks name, logo, brand, and website content are owned by Tartan Talks Ltd. You're welcome to share, but please don't reproduce them commercially without our written permission.
11. Privacy
How we handle your personal data is set out in our Privacy Policy.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms occasionally. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect when. Material changes that affect you will be communicated by email to ticket holders and members.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland. Any dispute will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the Scottish courts.
